Small Bowel Obstruction Due to Suprapubic Catheter Placement
Suprapubic catheter placement has associated complications such as bowel injury, bladder injury, or bleeding. This case describes the management of an elderly patient who had suprapubic catheter placement complicated by small bowel obstruction. The catheter had continued production of urine. متن کاملEffectiveness of Using an Electromagnetic Tube Placement Device for Placement of Bedside Small Bowel Feeding
Early and adequate nutritional support is crucial in the care of bum patients. There 11 have been described in literature many different methods for and technology to aid in the placement of small bowel feeding tubes that are used to provide the needed enteral nutrition. The purpose of this study was to determine if using an electromagnetic tube placement device (ETPD) was an effective way to p...

OBJECTIVES The aim of this prospective study in the prehospital setting was to compare three different methods for immediate confirmation of tube placement into the trachea in patients with severe head injury: auscultation, capnometry, and capnography. METHODS All adult patients (>18 years) with severe head injury, maxillofacial injury with need of protection of airway, or polytrauma were int...
متن کاملTranspyloric Feeding Tube Placement Using Electromagnetic Placement Device in Children.
BACKGROUND Transpyloric feeding tubes (TPT) are often recommended in critically ill children. Blind tube placement, however, can be difficult, be time-consuming, and incur multiple radiation exposures. An electromagnetic device (EMD) is available for confirmation of successful placement of TPTs. We conducted a retrospective cohort study to evaluate the efficacy of an EMD for TPT placement in ch...
